Whale Egg

$100.00

“Whale egg” watercolor done on Arches 300 lb cold pressed cotton paper. To get ideas for my art I always resort back to Alice in Wonderland; “Why, sometimes I’ve believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast.”. I often use this prompt to explore themes for my art. Needless to say, I’ve really enjoyed this whale series. I’ve had a lot of people in my life say that I should do illustrations for a children’s book. I really like the thought of creating my own story book. But for now I’m going to continue to explore the endless possibilities of our whale friend. For this piece, I decided to start at the beginning as one should. I present to you, the whale egg, the humble beginnings of our nameless super star, who is everything but your average whale.
